Program Description

Participation in this program provides a unique opportunity to learn about coral reef ecology. The activity involves instruction in coral reef survey and data collection techniques, either via snorkeling or SCUBA diving. The program begins with a visit to the Ocean Adventure aquariums to ID species and enjoy the touch pools before exploring the reef.

For those students with an interest in taking this to the next level, they may become involved with the restoration of coral reefs as part of their educational experience. Ocean Adventure is involved with growing corals in aquaria and then transferring these to barren reefs within Ilanin Bay.

Ocean adventure, through Camayan Divers, has PADI certified dive instructors and master divers for students interested in becoming certified SCUBA divers.
